Therapy for Perfectionism, People-Pleasing, and Anxiety: Safely Drop the Mask
Because looking like you have it all together shouldn’t mean tearing yourself apart on the inside. Let’s step off the performance treadmill together.
Professional, collaborative counselling and psychotherapy tailored uniquely to you, in a safe, confidential setting, in person in Tytherington, Macclesfield or online, tailored to your pace and needs.
Your Perfectionism Isn’t a Flaw. It’s How You Learned to Feel Safe
When you spend your life over-preparing, over-delivering, and constantly scanning the room to make sure everyone else is happy, it’s easy to judge yourself for being “too anxious” or assume you are just fundamentally broken. But the truth is much kinder: your perfectionism, your drive to achieve, and your habit of putting your own needs last are not personal failures. They are brilliant, creative strategies that your nervous system developed to keep you safe.
Somewhere in your past, keeping the peace or being the “good one” was the only way to protect yourself. It worked. But while that inner alarm system kept you safe then, it is keeping you utterly exhausted now. You don’t need to be fixed; you just need to help your body realise that the danger has passed, and it is finally safe to step down from the being on high alert.

Therapy Services
While my practice is warmly open to any adult seeking meaningful change, I hold a dedicated professional specialisation in trauma-informed psychotherapy for women experiencing the invisible burnout of high-functioning anxiety, perfectionism, and a constant pressure to keep everyone else happy.
As an integrative therapist, I look at the whole picture of how stress lives in your mind and your body. Our work together will combine:
Nervous system regulation to soothe the physical exhaustion and constant on-edge feeling.
Practical tools to dismantle the rigid “shoulds” and quiet your harsh inner critic.
A warm, non-judgmental space where you can safely practice setting boundaries and putting yourself first.

Discover how to quiet your inner critic, set guilt-free boundaries, and finally let your nervous system rest.
